Alternative Shabbat Experiences
Gesher Shabbat, so named after the Hebrew word for “bridge,” is a service that seeks to fulfill its title: connecting community members to prayer and providing an alternative path for spiritual engagement. Within this prayer experience, there is opportunity for both musical connection and textual learning, as Gesher features both guitar-accompanied music and a stimulating group discussion about the Torah portion of the week. This intimate, lay-led Shabbat morning service takes place on the second Saturday of each month in the Friedlander Bet Midrash.
