Alan Samuel, Executive Director
Alan is a dedicated and highly trained Jewish communal professional who is responsible for administration of Temple Beth Israel, Bet Olam Jewish funerals, the Victorian Union of Progressive Judaism and the Progressive Jewish Cultural Fund. Alan is a Justice of the Peace.
Rhonda Nirens, Executive assistant to the rabbis
Rhonda is the Rabbis’ personal assistant and the first person to contact when you need any rabbinic assistance. Rhonda provides support in all matters dealing with lifecycle events, is administrator of the Introduction to Judaism process and manages the B’nei Mitzvah program at Temple Beth Israel. Rhonda is also a funeral director with Bet Olam Jewish funerals and serves as a Justice of the Peace.
Zoi Juvris, Publications
Zoi was trained as an urban planner but has taken on our in-house publishing and graphic design. Zoi is editor of our magazine, Temple Time, produces the Shabbat supplement and is responsible for the production of publicity and printed matter.
Monica Hyams, education director
Monica is a life-long member of Temple Time and a highly experienced educator with experience in the private (Jewish and non-Jewish) and public school system, and outside school hours programs. Monica directs our Matan supplementary religion school and Hebrew program and coordinates lifelong Jewish learning at TBI.
Sue Silver, Community Projects Officer
With a wealth of experience in the fundraising sector, Sue’s role is to help build our community. Sue applies herself to building networks with the members of the community and organising events that will suit all ages and interests.
